Members of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh have demanded a special package from the Planning Commission during the 12th Five-Year Plan to revamp the state’s infrastructure.

The members said private and public investment to the extent of Rs 3,40,000 crore was needed for industrial, economic and social upliftment.

In an MP meet under the aegis of the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) in New Delhi on Friday, as many as 21 Members of Parliament from Madhya Pradesh narrated infrastructural bottlenecks between the state and Centre .

“All members (MP) were of the view that Madhya Pradesh has so far received Rs 1,00,000 crore investment under the current Plan, which is much less than state’s potential, since poor infrastructure of the state is a big hurdle in attracting investments,” Assocham said.
