MSOs to meet I&B ministry tomorrow on blackout of analog TV

Multi System Operators in West Bengal will meet officials of the Union of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting over the October 31 deadline set for digitisation of cable tv.

"MSOs are going to meet I&B ministry in Delhi tomorrow over stopping analog feed in cable networks in the metros from November 1. We will then decide whether to continue with current system or not," Manthan Broadband director Sudip Ghosh, a city based MSO told PTI. He said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had requested for some time for conversion to digitisation. "But, we can take a final call only after we meet with the I&B officials tomorrow." Swapan Chowdhury of Cable Operators Federation of India said unless the state administration gave supportd implementation could be an issue because of lack of set top boxes.
