MSRDC invites global tender for Mumbai sea-link

Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has invited global tenders for the development of Mumbai trans-harbour link project.
 
The development of the country's longest sea link would entail an estimated base cost of Rs 2,600 crore ($566 million).
 
The project, to be developed on build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis, involves construction of a 22.5 km long six-lane road bridge, dual carriageway from Sewree in central Mumbai to Nhava on Navi Mumbai side, MSRDC said in its tender notice.
 
The sea-link would consist of varying lengths of spans of 50 metres to 150 metres or more; the construction period for the project would be 48 months. The last date for submitting the bids is November 23.
 
The bids for pre-qualification can be submitted by either an individual company or by a consortium of companies.
 
In case of the latter, the lead consortium member would be required to hold a minimum of 26 per cent of total equity of the project company.
 
The individual company or consortium should have a networth of not less than Rs 1,000 crore ($218 mn) as per the latest audited financial statements and average cash profit of not less than Rs 200 crore ($44 mn) over the previous three financial years.
