Mtnl, Bsnl Match Cell Firms In Std Rates

The tariff war in the cellular segment intensified further today with Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) reducing its cell to cell long-distance rate by two-thirds and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) dropping long-distance charges for its CellOne subscribers using Plan 325 by up to 46 per cent.

BSNL also dropped its long-distance tariff on cell to fixed line calls to Rs 4.80 per minute from Rs 9. The two PSUs have also done away with roaming charges of Rs 3 a minute for their cell users.
