External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee is likely to be discharged from the Army hospital tomorrow as doctors found no internal injuries on his body. |
According to an Army spokesperson, Mukherjee's condition was reviewed by a panel of doctors today after he had a sound sleep and "appeared active and cheerful". |
The doctors have ruled out any internal injuries to the minister, who was injured in a road accident in West Bengal three days ago. "He has a lacerated wound scalp, which is clean, and nine sutres. Apart from this, there are no other body or soft tissue injuries," a release issued by the Army said. |
In view of his improved condition, Mukherjee would be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, it said. |
Meanwhile, the West Bengal government has ordered a high-level police probe into the accident, a top official said. |
