External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee is likely to be discharged from the Army hospital tomorrow as doctors found no internal injuries on his body.

According to an Army spokesperson, Mukherjee's condition was reviewed by a panel of doctors today after he had a sound sleep and "appeared active and cheerful".

The doctors have ruled out any internal injuries to the minister, who was injured in a road accident in West Bengal three days ago. "He has a lacerated wound scalp, which is clean, and nine sutres. Apart from this, there are no other body or soft tissue injuries," a release issued by the Army said.

In view of his improved condition, Mukherjee would be discharged from the hospital tomorrow, it said.

Meanwhile, the West Bengal government has ordered a high-level police probe into the accident, a top official said.
