At least four persons claimed to have seen suspicious-looking people discussing about placing parcels inside the first class compartments of western railway suburban trains on Tuesday evening minutes before the seven blasts that claimed around 200 lives.

The four persons, whose identity police have refused to divulge, have claimed that they were boarding the first class compartments when they heard some people informing on mobile phones that they have placed the parcels and would meet others at some railway station, police said adding that half a dozen sketches have been made on the basis of the descriptions provided by these witnesses.

One of the witnesses claimed the suspect informed of getting down at Malad, while another claimed that the suspect was supposed to get down at Kandivali station, police said.

The witnesses were also likely to be quizzed to ascertain if there was commonality between their claims and derive a pattern, if any.
