Mumbai property developers may convert their planned premium and luxury residential projects into commercial projects. This is because commercial projects have been given a higher floor space index (FSI) in the new development plan for the city, and residential markets are in the doldrums, according to consultants and developers. The FSI is permissible construction on any plot of land.
