Mysore achieves NSS target

Mysore district has achieved a net saving of Rs 129 crore under the National Savings Scheme (NSS) much before the target period. This has been made possible by the agents, according to deputy commissioner G Kumar Naik.
 
He revealed this at the World Thrift Day on Saturday. The event was organised by the NSS Department of the Karnataka government.
 
Senior postmaster of Mysore's main post office K Obaiah said that a sum of Rs 9 crore had been netted under the savings scheme for senior citizens of the central government. Investments under different small saving schemes were of the order of Rs 500 crore.
