Nabard pegs Nagaland credit at Rs 210 crore

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has set credit projection to the tune of Rs. 210.31 crore for the state of Nagaland in the next fiscal. A senior Nabard official told that potential linked plans (PLPs) for all the 11 districts in Nagaland have been prepared for the next financial year and added that the total disbursement has been pegged at Rs 210.31 crore.

Out of the total projection of Rs. 210.31 core, crop loan share has been set as 9 per cent (Rs 18.37 crore), agricultural and allied sector term loan as 31 per cent (Rs. 66.11 crore), non-farm sector (NFS) as 19 per cent (39.62 crore), other priority sector as 37 per cent (Rs 77.68 crore) and agro and food processing sector as 4 per cent (Rs. 8.51 crore). Agriculture and allied activities being the mainstay of the economy of Nagaland, the official said that the thrust of Nabard would be on farm sector in the state, in addition to rural infrastructure. Nabard, he said, has identified horticulture, animal husbandry, fishery, poultry farming, piggery, irrigation and land development as sectors that need enhanced credit flow in Nagaland.
