Plans to increase number of SHGs to 1.5 lakh in TN this fiscal
National Bank for Agriclture and Rural Development (Nabard), Chennai, expects to expand the network of self-help groups (SHGs) to 1,50,000 by the end of the current financial year from 1,10,000 SHGs in 2002-03.
Nabard also plans to rope in post offices as a platform of network to increase its reach to micro-finance given to SHG. Addressing a press conference, C R Patnaik, the CGM of Nabard, Chennai, said:
