Nagpur fraud: Police launch manhunt

The city police has launched a manhunt to nab the accused persons""Durai, J Vighneshwar, Navin Kumar, Tagur and car driver Shankar.
 
Prima facie, police sources said, it appears that the accused are from Tamil Nadu. They all were putting up in a rented flat in Priyadarshini colony, near RTO. They came to the city and launched their business on May 26, 2003.
 
They took an entire bungalow in New Varma layout on rent from Vinod and Meenakshi Gadkari for their head office. They also purchased a Tata Indica Car and opened two accounts in ICICI Bank and IDBI Bank. Sources informed that the company's balance in the ICICI bank was only Rs 1.04 lakh.
 
They appointed four young girls from educated families as clerks in their head office and two in Untkhana Road branch office. Slowly, they started duping innocent people, mostly youngsters from middle-class families.
 
Sources said, even the office staff invested huge money with the company with an expectation of getting high returns. But, they too were duped by the accused. Sources alleged that advocate Rajesh Balpande was the legal advisor of the company. He too was cheated.
 
Rohit Chaurasia, who had printed brochures and prescribed forms, did not get Rs 1.20 lakh from the accused towards the printing order placed by the company.
