According to the unaudited financial results taken on record in the company's board meeting in New Delhi today, the sales turnover at Rs 664.88 crore has recorded an increase of 4.74 per cent.
The figure for the corresponding quarter of previous year was Rs 664.88 crore. Nalco also reported improved production of alumina and aluminium in the first quarter.
Alumina production increased to 369,100 tonnes from 358,600 tonnes while aluminium output went up to 72,847 tonnes from 57, 129 tonnes on comparative basis.
The total aluminium sale including export, was up 17.89 per cent to 63,884 tonnes from 54,190 tonnes in the previous corresponding quarter.
With the additional output coming from the expanded capacities, Nalco hopes to close the 2003-04 fiscal with good records, said company sources.
