Nandigram firing

West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has informed the CPI(M) Central Committee that he had not ordered police firing in Nandigram.

The CM said that the decision to open fire had been taken "on the spot" by the local administration, according to reliable source in the CC, which concluded its three-day meeting in New Delhi on Monday.
