Nasdaq drops 39pts; ADRs end mixed

The Dow Jones industrial average slipped 63 points to 14,015. The Nasdaq plunged 39 points to 2772.

The Indian ADRs ended on a mixed note. Sterlite zoomed over 7% to $21.05. VSNL soared 4% to $27. Tata Motors rallied 2.4% to $20.75, and MTNL surged over 2% to $8.22.

On the other hand, Infosys and Wipro plunged over 6% each to $51.78 and $15.04, respectively. Satyam slumped over 5% to $26.57, and Patni Computers shed 4% to $23.80. HDFC Bank dropped 3% to $108.55, and ICICI Bank slipped 1.5% to $54.60. Genpact and Dr.Reddy's were down over 1% each to $15.85 and $16.23, respectively.
