The monthly general body meeting (GBM) of the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) was once again adjourned on Monday without transacting any business.

The meeting, fourth one to be adjourned in the last six months, is likely to affect industries around Nashik.

Major important proposals on issues such as octroi concession to new large industries, octroi norms and irregular garbage disposal management system couldn't be tabled at the GBM.

Nashik mayor Balasaheb Sanap is planning to convene a special meeting of corporators to discuss these issues. Sanap said, "Many development works and other major issues are pending GBM approval. It is now necessary to decide how long can a GBM be adjourned. Some amendments are needed in the NMC constitution to tackle this situation."

Dinkar Adhav, house leader in NMC, said, "It is up to the mayor to call a GBM. He can reconvene it to discuss pending issues. In case of adjournment, it does not necessarily have to remain adjourned for an entire month. After adjournment, the GBM can be called after one hour or on the very next day."
