Naveen demands two more passport seva kendras

Keeping in view the substantial increase in the demand for passport services, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a letter to S M Krishna, Union Minister of External Affairs has urged for establishment of two new passport seva kendras at Berhampur in southern Odisha and Sambalpur in western Odisha.

Patnaik in his letter has pointed out that about 9011 applications for passports were received in 2011 from 10 districts of western Odisha.

Similarly, 7578 citizens have applied for passports from eight districts in southern Odisha. Currently, there is only one passport seva kendra in in Bhubaneswar, serving all the 30 districts in Odisha.
