Bihar's ruling NDA appears set to maul the opposition Fourth Front and Congress by leading in 32 of the state's 40 Lok Sabha seats.      According to the trends available, JD(U) was leading in 19 and BJP 13.

Though RJD president and Railway minister Lalu Prasad is leading in both Saran and Pataliputra seats by around 4000 votes, his ally LJP chief Ramvilas Paswan is trailing his JD(U) rival and former chief minister Ramsunder Das by about 27,000 votes in Hajipur.

Apart from Paswan, half-a-dozen union ministers including Shakeel Ahmed of the Congress (Madhubani), and RJD's M A A Fatmi (Darbhanga), Kanti Singh (Karakat), Akhilesh Prasad Singh (East Champaran), Raghunath Jha (Valmikinagar) and Taslimuddin (Kishanganj) are also trailing.

However, Union Rural Development minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh of RJD has established a lead of around 8000 votes over his JD(U) rival Vijay Kumar Shukla alias Munna Shukla in Vaishali.

Meira Kumar of Congress, Union minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, is leading in Sasaram and so is RJD's Union Minister of State for Water Resource Development Jaiprakash Narayan Yadav in Banka.
