Tycoon Hotels Private Limited, a wing of Lotus Constructions, opened the first pub-style restaurant in Vijayawada on Saturday. Christened 'Lotus - The Food City', the restaurant was launched in joint venture with the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) on the banks of river Krishna. Addressing mediapersons, V Subba Raju, managing director of Tycoon Hotels, said that the riverfront restaurant was constructed at a cost of Rs 4 crore as against the initial estimate of Rs 1.70 crore. "The Food City has attractions for all age groups of customers "� Springs (vegetable restaurant), Creek (riverfront restaurant), Brooks (pub-style restaurant), Ripples (bar and restaurant), Cascade (banquet hall), Bubbles (kids zone), a food court and an amphitheatre. The APTDC boats, anchored in the vicinity of the Food City, will take visitors across the Krishna and to nearby Bhavani islands," he said. J Raymond Peter, chairman and managing director of APTDC, who inaugurated Lotus - The Food City, said, "The venture is one of the 15 mega projects the government has sponsored at major tourist spots in the state to attract international tourists." |
