Former defence secretary Subir Dutta was on Friday sworn in as member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
He is a 1967 batch IAS officer from the West Bengal cadre. Ajay Prasad is the new defence secretary. Prasad was earlier officer on special duty to the Deputy Prime Minister.
The government on Sunday effected a bureaucratic reshuffle involving 16 secretary-level appointments and two additional secretary-level postings.
