NHPC to get Rs 3,000cr from Power Fin Corp

National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC), the country's largest hydro-power company, has signed project financing agreements for Rs 3,000 crore with Power Finance Corporation (PFC) for various projects to be implemented during the 11th Plan.

Funds will be utilised for the 800 MW Parbati hydroelectric project in Himachal Pradesh, the 132 MW Teesta project in West Bengal and the 120 MW Sewa project in Jammu & Kashmir.

NHPC can draw the amount up to six months after commissioning of the projects, and the funds are repayable over the next ten years.
