Nirma to host international conference on management

The Institute of Management, Nirma University (IMNU) is set to host the 14th edition of Nirma International Conference on Management (NICOM) on the theme of leading an organisation in turbulent times. The three-day event will begin from January 6 and end on January 8, 2011.

Titled as 'Managing in Turbulent Times: Creativity, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Learnings', the theme will address the wide gamut of challenges faced by businesses globally under the backdrop of the recent recessionary business environment.

According to the institute, business environment has always remained dynamic, more so in the last two decades. 'During the recent recessionary business environment too much has been written about the mistakes that sparked the financial and economic crisis but not much attention has been given to what has been done well to manage the crisis," said a member of NICOM committee.

 

The Conference will cover topics of vital importance such as 'Turbulence in Business and Society', 'Creativity and Innovations: Technological Implications', 'Leadership during Turbulence', 'Entrepreneurial Culture for Managing Turbulence', 'Learnings from the Downturn' and 'Functional and Cross-Functional Challenges during Turbulence', among others.NICOM 2011 will see participation from the likes of Harsh Mariwala, chairman and director, Marico Industries, Rafiq Dosani, University of Stanford, USA., Sanjay Bannerji, Essex Business School, UK, Manas Chatterjee, University of New York, USA, Sanjay Verma, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and Larry Lemanski, Texas A & M University, USA, among others.
