Nirma University to set up laboratory

 The project will have an initial investment of Rs 1.62 crore and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released Rs 40 lakh for this.

 A few industries have committed Rs 40 lakh for the project. The rest of the funds will come from Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF).

 The laboratory aims to facilitate a constant interaction between professional Institutions and the industry.

 The equipment for checking thermal conductivity of insulators costs more than Rs one crore, making it difficult for industrial units to install this machine independently. The laboratory will adhere to norms prescribed by the American Society of Testing Materials Standards and the Bureau of Indian Standard.
