West Bengal Commerce and Industry Minister Nirupam Sen has been admitted to a hospital following chest pain and other complications and his condition is stated to be stable. Sen was admitted to a hospital at Salt Lake late October 13 night with chest pain, fluctuating blood pressure and uneasiness.
According to the hospital sources, the minister is in the ICCU and examinations are being conducted on him.
Medical superintendent Debasish Sarma told PTI that a medical board, comprising seven consultant specialists, had been formed for the treatment of Sen.
Sarma also said Sen was under constant monitoring and observation. He had light breakfast in the morning. Meanwhile, party sources said Sen had undergone angioplasty at AIIMS, Delhi, in 2003. They said Sen had visited Jyoti Basu at his residence along with the other central committee members, before he fell ill.
