India's federal policy think tank National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog on Tuesday lauded the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh for its industrial development roadmap.

Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar said the notable thing about the incumbent state government was its feat of launching projects totalling over Rs 600 billion after following up on the memorandums of understanding (MoU) totalling about Rs 4.68 trillion signed with both domestic and foreign investors earlier this year.

He referred to the next proposed 'groundbreaking' ceremony in December 2019 to launch industrial projects worth an additional Rs 1 trillion to buttress his point
