The National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (NMDC) is anticipating that iron ore dispatches from its Bailadilla mines would grow by another seven lakh tonne during the current year.
In 2002-03, NMDC recorded total despatches of 153 lakh tonne from Bailadilla mines, of which 49 lakh tonne were exported and 89 lakh tonne of ore supplied to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) and Vizag-based Hy-grade pellets units and Essar group.
