No bird flu in India: APPF

The Andhra Pradesh Poultry Federation (APPF) yesterday called upon the farmers and the public not to be worried by the reports of the widespread incidence of bird flu abroad.

It sought to clarify that not a single case of such disease had been reported in the country, and said that India would not be affected by the menace.

Briefing the media a press conference here today, APPF president K Narayana Reddy said that around 200 veterinarians were constantly monitoring the poultry farms along the Indian border with Pakistan to detect any outbreak of the disease.
