On a day M Karunanidhi defended Telecom Minister A Raja and ruled out his resignation, the DMK today said there is neither "pressure" nor any communication from the Congress on the 2G spectrum issue and asserted that ties between the two parties are strong.

DMK Rajya Sabha MP and Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi said ties between her party and Congress are "very good and strong".

"Nothing that I really know of. But there is complete understanding between Congress and the DMK," she said when asked whether there was any communication from Congress to take action against Raja.

About the CAG report, Kanimozhi said the Department of Telecommunications has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court.

"The entire issue is in the court. That kind of pressure is not on the DMK (from Congress)," she told a television channel.

On AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa's offer of support to UPA, she said it was for the allies of the former Tamil Nadu chief minister to take note of.
