Any decision on imposing load shedding in Mumbai is unlikely to be taken at tomorrow's meeting between the power utilities and the state government officials, sources said today.

It is learnt that Tata Power Company, presently acting as the nodal agency for procuring additional power for Mumbai has managed to secure only 300 Mega Watts of power against the shortage of 400 Mw being faced by this city, may be given more time to get additional power.

The gap of 100 Mw is being met by the private utility through the state power grid which is itself facing a massive shortage of power.

Maharashtra Electricty Regulatory Commission would be hearing the petition filed by Mahavitaran, the distribution arm of Maharashtra State Electricity Board, against Tata Power for drawing power from the state grid on April 12.
