Finance Minister P Chidambaram today ruled out any cut in duties on petro products as suggested by ruling UPA's left allies to mitigate the effect of surging global oil prices.

Chidambaram virtually rejected the idea of duty cuts during his meeting with Petroleum Minister Murli Deora, sources said.

Deora will now meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tomorrow possibly for some hike in fuel prices.
