Union minister of state for civil aviation, Jayanthi Natarajan, and TMC MP, N. Abdul Khader yesterday filed their nomination papers for the by-elections to the Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu.
Natarajan had already filed her papers for the vacancy caused by her resignation, but yesterday she filed her papers for the vacancy caused by the resignation of the TMC president, G.K. Moopanar.
Khader filed his papers for the vacancy arising out of Natarajans resignation.

In Jaipur, three candidates filed their nomination papers on the last day yesterday for the RS seat which fell vacant following the death of BJP MP Satish Chandra Agrawal. The ruling BJP has fielded its state unit general secretary, O.S. Lakhawat., while a former Rajya Sabha member, Kamal Morarka, filed his papers as a Samajwadi Janata Party candidate for the October 16 election.
According to returning officer Bansi Lal Gupta who is also the secretary of the Rajasthan assembly, the third candidate to file papers yesterday was the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader and a former MLA, Bhairu Singh Gurjar.
The papers would be scrutinised tomorrow and the last date for withdrawal of name is October 9.
