Normal life disrupted in parts of Karnataka

Normal life was disrupted in BJP-ruled Karnataka and stray incidents of stone pelting were reported here today due to the nation-wide bandh called by NDA and Left to protest hike in petroleum products.

In Mysore, BJP activists stopped the Mysore-Bangalore passenger train briefly and shouted slogans against the UPA government.

Police said stray incidents of stone throwing were reported in parts of the country's IT hub here.

Shops and business establishments downed shutters. Government offices and banks reported thin attendance, reports said.

Police said elaborate security arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incident.
