Norwegian team visits CFTRI

A visiting Norwegian team has seen scope for joint efforts with the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore.
 
During a two-day visit to Mysore, the high-level delegation, led by minister for industry and trade Borge Brende visited CFTRI and evinced interest in its ongoing research activities.
 
The delegation spent about an hour at the institute and showed keen interest in the liquefied banana developed by the CFTRI. Commending the institute's work, the Norwegian Minister said he was looking forward to visiting the institute as it is known as a knowledge-centre.
 
There was tremendous scope for cooperation between his ministry and the CFTRI in capacity building in a host of areas.
 
CFTRI director V Prakash received the delegation and briefed them on the ongoing research at the institute. The delegation comprised Norwegian envoy to India Jon Westborg and political adviser to trade ministry Bjorn Skaar.
 
The delegation also visited Brindavan Gardens and Chamundi Hills before returning to Bangalore.
