Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday appeared dismissive about Chinese objections to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh, saying it was “nothing new”.

Mukherjee, former External Affairs Minister, said China had objected earlier also when he himself visited Tawang in the state.

“(It is) nothing new. Earlier also it happened. Even my own visit to Tawang was described as foreign minister’s visit to South Tibet,” he said.
