Karnataka High Court on Monday ordered issue of notices to the respondent and Lokayukta police on a petition by Industries Minister Murugesh Nirani seeking quashing of the private complaint filed against him in the Lokayukta court.

Justice Anand Byrareddy ordered issue of notice to Industrialist Alam Pasha who had filed the complaint accusing Nirani and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa of cancelling allotment of 26 acres of industrial land allotted to him by the Karnataka Industrial Development Board on the basis of a forged letter.

On May 21 last year, the Lokayukta court had ordered a probe into the complaint and Lokayukta police in its final report on March 1 charged Nirani, Yeddyurappa and others under various IPC sections and Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
