The National Productivity Council (NPC), a central government consultancy organisation for improving the productivity of industries and various enterprises, will identify social service organisations that have excelled without government funding. |
NPC Director-General Kamal Taori said, "The NPC will recognise 40 organisations countrywide as the 'NPC Director-General's Centre of Excellence'. The organisation will replicate the model across the country." |
He said currently major redesigning was under way in areas such as information technology, pollution prevention and control, agricultural productivity, energy conservation and energy, industrial engineering, plant engineering, trade unions, and worker productivity. |
He said there was a need for ISO certification, particularly for small-scale units. "From the region alone we have provided technical consultancy to more than 40 SSI units," he said. |
