Odisha would soon come out with an action plan in response to Government of India's 'Make in India' programme meant to strengthen manufacturing industries and make them competitive in the global market.
"A committee under the chief secretary will be constituted to work out the modalities of the action plan. The Centre has come out with 98 points for compliance by the state governments. These points were discussed in detail at today's meeting. The Odisha government has already implemented some of these action points like submission of common application forms by investors and implementation of single window system," said a state official.
'Make in India' is an international marketing campaign slogan to attract businesses from around the world to invest and manufacture in the country. The major objective behind this initiative is to focus upon the heavy industries and public enterprises while generating employment, empowering secondary and tertiary sectors and utilising the human resource present in the country.
