Iron ore production in Odisha rose 22 per cent in 2013-14 to reach 77.84 million tonne compared to 63 million tonne (mnt) in FY 13.
The state's iron ore output is also the best since 2009-10 when the ore production touched its highest ever level of 79.67 mnt but plummeted in the subsequent years.
Exports of the bulk ore from Odisha doubled from 4.34 mnt in FY 13 to 8.81 mnt. The state's internal consumption of iron ore stood at 67.66 million tonne, said a written statement issued in the state assembly by steel & mines minister Prafulla Kumar Mallick.

Major iron ore producers during 2013-14 included Serajuddin & Company (8.3 mnt), Sarda Mines (7.02 mnt), Rungta Mines (5.4 mnt), Indrani Patnaik (3.88 mnt), Essel Mining & Industries Ltd (2.7 mnt), Mid-East Integrated Steel (2.07 mnt), Aryan Mining & Trading Corporation (2.9 mnt), Rungta Sons (2.63 mnt) and Feegrade & Company Pvt Ltd (2.11 mnt).Apart from iron ore, Odisha produced 663,708 tonne of manganese ore, 7.63 mnt of bauxite, 109.6 mnt of coal, 3.71 mnt of limestone and 2.85 mnt of chromite ore.
The state's mining revenue slowed 3.11 per cent to Rs 5,515 crore in FY 14 compared to Rs 5,695.70 crore in 2012-13.
