Business enquires at the Odisha MSME trade fair-2015 is likely to generate business to the tune of Rs 80 crore during the seven daylong event that concluded here on Wednesday.
"The trade fair organised by MSME department has elicited a good response as business to the tune of Rs 80 crore is likely to be generated. There were about 25000 trade enquiries," said Panchanan Dash, state MSME secretary.
The actual business generated is pegged at around Rs 4 crore even as about 2.5 lakh people thronged the weeklong event, he added.

Odisha had exported Rs 7,677.49 crore worth of metallurgical products, Rs 3,531.21 crore engineering, chemical and allied products, Rs 1,699.41 crore marine products, Rs 2,300.46 crore software and electronics, Rs 0.64 crore handloom items and handicraft products valued at 0.27 crore in 2013-14. Textile and pharmaceutical merchandise worth Rs 10 crore and Rs 0.93 crore, respectively, were also sent out of the state. Mineral exports stood at Rs 3,546.78 crore.
Speaking at the valedictory function, industries minister Debi Prasad Mishra said, Odisha is happening state for the MSME sector.
Odisha has turned out to be a favourable destination for large investments compared to other states. About 27 per cent of the investments are coming to the state and proposals to the tune of Rs 8 lakh crore are in the pipe line in various sectors like food processing, power, ports, mineral sector among others, he added.
