Odisha government has set the deadline to complete construction of road and railway lines leading to Puri and development of parking places before the 'Nabakalebara' festival of Lord Jagannath next year.
Official sources said the decision to complete the projects before June 2015 was taken at a high level meeting presided over by chief secretary J K Mohapatra who instructed the concerned departments to finish the work within the scheduled timeframe without fail.
“All the required support asked for by the respective departments have been provided and now it is the responsibility of the respective departments and agencies to complete the works in time,” Mohapatra said.

Administrative departments have been asked to monitor the weekly and monthly progress of the works at the ground level, official sources said.
The state government expects above 20 lakh people to congregate in the pilgrim town for the Navakalebara festival when the wooden idol of the deities will be changed after a gap of 19 years.
