For a file containing report of irregularities in a dam construction, even 10 months is not sufficient to travel from one office to the other in the state capital of Chhattisgarh.

Following reports of serious irregularities in the construction of Kalma barrage in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, a senior officer of Chhattisgarh's water resources department was assigned the task to conduct an inquiry.

The officer completed the probe about 10 months ago but ironically the minister had not received the report till date.

"I have not received the official probe report and once we get it action will be taken against the guilty officials as there have been irregularities in the construction of dam," Chhattisgarh's water resources minister Ramvichar Netam said in the state legislative assembly. The government would not spare anyone found guilty in the report, he added.

Congress' Mohammed Akbar, who raised the issue along with Padma Ghanshyam Manhar through a call attention notice, said it was surprising that the minister had not received the probe report even after 10 months of its completion. The 10-point probe had indicted serious lapses on the part of department, he added.
