Oil drops to $56.72/bl

Following reports of US crude supplies falling less than expected, the Nymex U.S. light crude oil for August delivery dipped 74 cents to close at $56.72 a barrel.

In the commodity segment, the Comex gold gained $1.90 to settle at $422.10 an ounce.
