Oil firms' sale not to top CCD agenda

 Official sources said though the CCD would take up an option paper prepared by the disinvestment ministry to solve the impasse over the sale of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, it was unlikely to dominate proceedings as the government had more or less ruled out any move to seek a review of the Supreme Court judgment or the introduction of an ordinance to push through the sale.

 The sources said the government did not consider the apex court judgment on the sale of the oil companies as a setback to the disinvestment process. This is evident from the number of companies whose transaction documents are lined up for the CCD
