Oil inches near $52/bbl

Global crude oil prices continued to shoot up, with the Nymex U.S. light crude oil for July delivery rising 84 cents to close at $51.85 a barrel. The London Brent crude jumped 63 cents to $50.78 per barrel.

The metal segment saw the Comex move up $1.80 to settle at $422.40 an ounce.
