The deficit in the oil pool account has come down to Rs 9,000 crore from Rs 12,600 crore at the beginning of 2001-02, on a decline in international crude prices.
The deficit had mounted to Rs 13,500 crore during July-August 2001, an official of the Oil Coordination Committee said.
