Oil price eases to $42.12

Oil prices shrinked on the New York Mercantile Exchange yesterday. While the U.S. light crude oil for February series slumped $1.33 to $42.12 per barrel, the London Brent crude was up $0.16 at $40.46 a barrel.

The metal segment saw the COMEX gold tumble $9.50 to settle at $429.70 an ounce.
