Oil prices higher in Asian trade

Oil prices continued to climb above $61 a barrel in Asian trade today as world powers worked on a tougher UN resolution to curb crude producer Iran's nuclear programme, dealers said.

At 0830 hrs New York's main oil futures contract, light sweet crude for delivery in April, advanced 20 cents to $61.59 a barrel from $61.39 in late US trades yesterday.
