Oil scales to new peak at $64.90/bbl

Crude oil prices, which fell by few cents on Tuesday, scaled up yesterday, with the Nymex US light crude oil for September delivery rising $1.83 to close at a new record high at $64.90 per barrel. The London Brent crude rose $2.10 to $64.08 a barrel.

In the commodity segment, the Comex gold advanced $2.20 to settle at $442 an ounce.
