A day after the Congress charged senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ananth Kumar with leaking cabinet papers to lobbyist Niira Radia, the BJP today challenged the ruling party to present documents to back its claim. It also denied that Ananth Kumar held any bank account in Zurich for black money

“We would also like to see the documents that prove links between Niira Radia and Ananth Kumar. Also on the alleged bank account held by our senior member. If the Congress is unable to prove these allegations, it should publicly apologise,” said BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy.

A prominent news channel had broadcast the interview of Rao Dheeraj Singh, who claimed to be a former business partner of Niira Radia, on Thursday. Singh had alleged that Ananth Kumar had an account in Zurich and had helped Niira Radia secure deals. Rudy clarified that the allegations that helicopters deals were facilitated in Karnataka and Maharashtra by BJP leaders was completely baseless.

“At the time these deals took place, the Congress was in power in both the states. We would like to know how BJP members could help in these deals,” said Rudy.
