The tariff fixation hearing conducted by the Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission (OERC) witnessed sharp division in opinion over grant of concessional tariff to the ferroalloys industries in the state.
While majority of the ferroalloys producers and some industry associations pleaded before the commission for such concessional tariff, several other petitioners objected to the move.
During the hearings, the distribution companies like Nesco and Cesco and the Ferro Alloys Producers Association of the state presented their case for a special tariff rate of Rs 1.82 per unit which is being availed by Indal in Wesco
