Oprah to step down from show

TV moghul Oprah Winfrey is set to bring the curtains down on her iconic daytime talk show ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’. In 2011, the show will end its 25-years run on air.

It is widely expected that Winfrey, one of the most influential figures in the US, will launch her cable network — OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network — in partnership with Discovery Networks after ending the show on CBS television. The 24th season of the talk show was kicked off at Michigan Avenue, drawing thousands of fans to catch a glimpse of the media icon.
